We have
owned Kandy since April 2007. Kandy was
pretty green when I got her. In the
meantime she became a real show horse
and proved herself on several shows
throughout Georgia, Florida and even
Arizona.
She is a
very special girl and is very versatile.
Even she’s so little she is a great and
very careful jumper.
2008 was
very successful for us with several wins
and placings in Dressage Training Level
as well in the Jumpers up to Level 3.
She took
home a TOP TEN Sporthorse u/s
Championship together with 7 more
placings from the Scottsdale Arabian
Horse Show. She also became Region 12
Champion in the Jumpers for Arabian
horses.
We have
owned Darren since he was 3 ½. He was my
first horse here in the US and I picked
him straight from the pasture. So he was
very green and since he was still a baby
at that time, I took the time and
started him very slowly.
Over the
last two years he became a great partner
not only for the Eventing and Jumper
Shows, but also for the daily work. He’s
great to work with, always motivated to
learn and to explore new things.
2008 was
also a great year for him. We started
off in May with our first successful
USEA show and continued with a
show at the Lexington, Kentucky
Horsepark, where he went his first
Novice Horse Trials and placed on his
Dressage Score. We finished the year
with a show at Poplar Place Farm.
2009 started
off pretty successful for us with a
6th
place in Novice at the Poplar Place Farm
Horse Trials in January. In
February I decided it’s time to get some
more mileage in the Jumper Ring and we
went on to Aiken, South Carolina. There
we finished with great results and took
home several placings in the Novice
Jumper levels. In March we took part at
the Atlanta Spring Classic in Conyers,
GA. This was a great opportunity to get
some more experience in the Jumper Ring.
From this AA rated show we took home one
placing in the 0.95 m jumpers.
Vilas is an
Off-The-Track-Thoroughbred and started
living with us in January 2008. It was quite a
challenge in the beginning for him and
for me too, to learn and train together
since he needed to get used to his new
life that was 100% different than the
life at the track – but I again
took it slow and today I can say it
really it paid off. Vilas has gone
through such a huge progress in the last
few months that it makes so much fun now
to ride and train him.
He is very
smart, knows how to open his stall doors
and how to get on the other side of the
pasture. He makes us laugh almost every
day and is a real character.
Vilas shows
great potential to become a very nice
Jumper or Eventer one time. I’m putting
a lot of hopes into him.
2009 will be
our first year of competitions. Vilas
already proved at a local schooling show
that he has what it takes to become a
great sporthorse.
1990
Anglo-Arabian Mare, bay, 15.2 h. She was
my ‘once in a lifetime horse’. Together
we accomplished over 240 wins and
placings in show jumping up to 1.30m, as
well as wins and placings in Dressage
and Eventing.
Hessen mare,
shown over 3 years very successfully in
Dressage and Jumpers (with her almost
every ride was a win – she also counts
to one of the most beautiful and
incredible horses in my life)
CHELSEY
Holsteiner
mare, shown successfully in Jumpers up
to 1.35
(she was able to jump the moon and
taught me not to be scared of big
heights – very smart and forgiving
horse)
SUHEIL VON LUDWIGSBURG aka
Sulyman
Shagya-Arab
stallion, shown successfully in
Dressage, Jumpers and Eventing (He was
just an incredible stallion, not only
regarding his trainability, but also
regarding his ground manners and
character. He drove to shows side by
side with Desert Sun and was standing on
the pasture next to mares).
BARON VON LUDWIGSBURG
Trakehner
gelding, started and shown successfully
in Young Horse Jumpers (Very smart, but
wasn’t easy to train)
BERNSTEIN VON LUDWIGSBURG
aka Bernie
Trakehner
gelding, started and trained
successfully
BALISKA
German Sport
Horse/Thoroughbred mare, retrained and
shown successfully in Young Horse
Jumpers (she came from a professional
trainer and was almost not rideable
anymore. It didn’t took long to
retrain her. She had great
potential for the Jumpers and is shown
today in the 1.25m and 1.30m classes.
Vilas County reminds me a lot on her.
Both are very smart and have a very
special character).
BALOU
Trakehner
gelding. He was my first horse - even
originally bought for my mum.
We have
shown successfully in Young Rider
classes
(He was huge
for my little size at that time, but
gave everything to make me feel like a
big rider)
There are
much more horses in my life that
influenced my riding and my life in the
early beginnings as well as over the
years. I just would like to mention
their names here:
A huge
‘THANK YOU’ goes at this point to all
the owners and breeders of these horses,
who have done a wonderful job in
providing me great partners for the Show
Circuit.
