A little bit about me...
...when I was 8 years old my love for horses and riding began. It was my mother that introduced me to the world of vaulting. Vaulting enabled me to get a feel for the huge animal, how it moves, and how to develop a good balance.

I was 11 when I took my first riding lesson on a schooling horse. It was a difficult start, I was just a little girl trying to reach the horses body with my short legs. But I persisted, and after two years of lessons (first once a week, then twice and then even more often), my parents decided to buy me a horse. “Balou” was his name, he was a Trakehner-Gelding a huge gray horse bred from a stud in North Germany. The Carl-Family, who breeds Trakehners, Arabians, Holsteiner and Ponys, were the owners of the stud. (www.gut-ludwigsburg.de).  The Carl-Family became such good friends ours. They sponsored and served me with horses throughout my riding career. Some of these horses were sold, some I have taken to shows and some went into a breeding program, but out of all of these horses there is one special horse that means so much to me and her name is Desert Sun.

Desert Sun is an AngloArab mare that the Carl-Family gave to me when Balou went into the "horse-heaven". This was 10 years ago and at this time Desert Sun became my one and only friend/partner.
She came to me as an un-rideable horse. The Carls said, for a half a year I was able to keep and attempt to train her. She was 7 at this time and hadn’t received any dressage training at all. Since I was a beginner she was as well, we started to train together, taking lessons while trying to understand each other. We took lessons daily in dressage and jumping twice a week (her favorite discipline was jumping), we evolved into an excellent team, and went to our first show after 5 months. Half a year later the Carls decided that I could keep her longer because we seemed to be a pretty good match. Two years later, we went from absolute beginner level to “L” level and within another two years we stepped up to “M/A” level. After that the Carls decided to give her to me, she was now my horse. No one can imagine how proud I am of what we have accomplished together. This cute mare has done everything for me, it was amazing how fast she progressed and how she constantly created and beat new bests. She jumped higher than anyone else would have thought. Desert Sun and I had a special bond, because of this bond I felt that only together we could release her full potential. She is an absolutely exceptional horse.

In our “little” career we were collected over 240 win’s and placings in dressage, jumping and eventing. As a member for more than 6 years of the “frankish squad”, a Bavarian association that cultivates talented riders and their horses, we had the privilege to join and ride on big shows throughout Germany.

Before we came to the US we went to our last show in June 2006 and won an “M” level jumping. It broke my heart that I knew I would have to leave this horse that gave her heart and soul to me, but I know that she is now enjoying her life at the Carls's farm grazing on one of there many huge pastures.

In May I learned that she bore her 2nd foal. It is a gorgeous filly from Thoroughbred Elite-Stallion “Beg xx”.!

Currently she is pregnant from Holsteiner-Stallion “Lord Ludwigsburg”. We try to save her talent, strengthen and encourage it in each generation.

During my time in Germany I have ridden a lot of horses, from pony to warm-bloods. Every horse was a special one with his own special ablities.
